British Captain Defies Japanese
(Received 2 p.m.) HONGKONG, July 24. Japanese destroyers fired across the bows and halted the British steamer Leana 50 miles from Hongkong. A boarding party demanded to inspect the cargo, but Captain Green firmly declined. After a long argument, the Japanese withdrew and the steamer proceeded unmolested.
