Accommodation for Centennial Visitors

[Per Press Association. Copyright.l WELLINGTON, This Day. During the Centennial year, accommodation for visitors is likely to be a problem unless organisation beforehand provides for the position. Therefore, the Minister of Internal Affairs, the Hon. W. E. Parry, has appointed a committee representing all the interests concerned to deal with the matter, as he considers that in all the centres, particularly in Auckland and Wellington, it will be pressing. The Government has been obtaining full details of the present accommodation, and it will be necessary to extend these facilities temporarily. The committee consists of Mr. H. J, Kelliher and the Hon. E. R. Davis, M.L.C., representing the hotel owners; Mr. P. Coyle, the licensed trade, Wellington; Mr. C. W. Earle, chairman of the accommodation committee. Centennial Exhibition; Mr. W. J. Mountjoy, private hotels, Wellington; Mr. C. R. Williamson, private hotels, Dunedin; Mr. A. A. Paape, licensed hotels, Dunedin; Mr. R. Collins, licensed hotels, Christchurch; Mr. R. A. Brooks and Mr. F. G. Young, hotel and restaurant employees, Christchurch and Auckland respectively; Mr. A. Houston, the Tourist and Publicity Department: Mr. J. W. Heenan, Department of Internal Affairs. Attention will bo given not only to accommodation, but to the estimates of the number of visitors probably arriving, and their movements within the Dominion.
