Loss To Dairy Industry
A motion of condolence with the relatives of the late Mr J. H. Hayward. for many years a shareholder and director of the Maungatapere Dairy Company, and for 16 years chairman of directors, was passed at the annual meeting of suppliers of the company . yesterday. The motion was placed before the meeting by the chairman of directors, Mr L. Reynolds, who described Mr Hayward's passing as a distinct loss to the dairying industry not only in the Maungatapere district, but also throughout the whole of Northland. Mr Hayward was a member of the committee set up to consider the establishment of a fertiliser works at Whangarei and upon his death, Mr Reynolds was appointed to till the vacancy. Votes of condolence wore also passed with the relatives and families of the late Mrs Cave, of Maungatapere. and the chief factory inspector for the Auckland province, Mr Smith,
