South Hokianga Sport
An inter-school football and basketball match was played between Waima and Otaua native schools at Waima last Friday. The games were very interesting from start to finish. The football results were:— j A teams (13-aside). Waima !J, Otaua I 0: B teams (7-aside). Otaua 8. Waima I 0, j Basketball. —Waima 10, Otaua 6. i Raweuc Golf Club. I The annual competition for the Kelly Memorial Cup was played last Sunday in splendid weather. Competition was very keen and quite a number of players reduced their handicaps. Results were: —Mr N. Boyd and his partner Miss F. Freese, with 123 nett, won; with the runners-up, Mr C. Hargraves and Mrs M. Kelly and Mr T. Miller and Miss A. Garcia., both 138. Other leading scores were: Mr H. Anderson and Mrs Loftus. 146; Mr G. Cochrane and Miss R. Freese. 147. Southern Hokianga Rugby Union. The South Hokianga senior Rugby competition was continued on Saturday. At Waima. the home side beat Whirinaki by 6 points to nil. Trygetters for the winners were M. Morunga and J. Hemara. Basketball. In the senior basketball match played at Waima on Saturday. Waima beat Whirinaki 15 —3.
