{.Special to '‘Northern Advocate.” I AUCKLAND. This Day. Tho total rainfall in Auckland for Iho 24 hours ended at midnight last night was 1.37 inches. On Wednesday a fall of 1.05 inches was recorded. The rainfall was accompanied by a strong wind, a maximum gust of 37 miles an hour being recorded at the llobsonville air base. No damage has been reported, although shipping lias been delayed, In the Hawke’s Bay district, streams and rivers arc running high. The Napier-Taupo road is again closed. As the land throughout the province has been virtually waterlogged since the floods in the autumn, water accumulates rapidly, with little chance of getting away. It is hoped that the Napier-Wairoa service cars will resume today. Passengers will be transhipped, if necessary.
