Professor Algiers Tour
The first, of a series of addresses in Northland by Professor R. M. Algie, organiser of the Auckland Provincial Freedom Association, was given at Wellsford last night. The attendance, though satisfactory, was smaller than it would have been, due to the inclemency of the weather and flooding of the roads. Mr; W. Armour presided. Professor Algie spoke for approximately two hours *on the aims and objects of the League and the socialistic tendencies of the present day legislation. His address was listened to by a very appreciative audience without interruption of any kind, except applause. A number of questions were answered at the conclusion of the address. A vote of thanks, moved by Mr. W. A. Grant and seconded by Mr. E. Farrell, was carried by acclamation. Professor Algie speaks at Maungaturoto tonight.
