Parks Sentenced To Death
[Per Press Association. Covyriyht.'i DUNEDIN, This Day. A verdict that Eric Sandagger Parks, aged 28, was guilty of the murder of Frances Amelia Lee at on April 14, was returned by the jury in the Supreme Court last evening after a retirement of nearly three hours. When asked if he had anything to say why the sentence of death should not be passed, the prisoner said in a low voice: “No. I have nothing to say.” Mr. Justice Kennedy then donned the black cap, and formally pronounced the sentence of death. The prisoner maintained a calm demeanour throughout the whole proceedings.
