Bad Weather Holds Up Shipping
Unable to leave the harbour limits owing to the heavy seas running on the East Coast, the coastal vessel Seagull. bound for Awanui with a cargo of coal for the Kaitaia Dairy Company, was forced to lake shelter al the town wharl yesterday. The Seagull was to have left for Awanui immediately after loading at Port Whangarei. but she will now remain in port until the weather clears sufficiently. Continuous rain prevented the working of cargo at the town, wharf yesterday, with the result that the Claymore is running a day behind schedule, and will, not leave for Auckland until tonight. Arriving yesterday from Auckland, the M.V. Coronation, reports meeting a very heavy storm, the vessel receiving a bad buffetling by terrific seas. The wind is now changing to south-west-, and it is expected that the Coronation's trip from Whangarei to Kerikeri, scheduled for tonight, will be made in comparatively quiet wenthet,
