A Note Of Warning

(Received 10.30 a.m.) GENEVA, July 20. A note of warning that another world economic crisis may soon arise, but can be delayed if suitable measures are taken, is contained in the report of the League’s Economic Committee. It emphasises the downward trend of prices, despite the stimulus of armaments, yet there are reassuring features, such as the relative stability of exchanges, improvement in agriculture, and demands for capital replacement, .which should prevent the development of a crisis as grave as the last. The committee urges creditor countries to avoid increased restrictions on weaker countries, and arrive at equilibrium of prices and exchange with free markets.
