Maoris Entertain At Hospital
On their own. suggestion', the Whangaruru Entertainers, the Maori party which travelltd to Whangarei to assist with the Orphanage benefit ball, gave a special performance for patients at the Whangarei Distinct Hospital between 6.30 and 7.30 o’clock last night. It was a splendid entertainment, which was appreciated to the full. At the conclusion, one patient walked from the far end of a ward and, in a neat speech, sincerely thanked the Maori party for its kindly action. A Royal Australian Air Force bomber, making a forced landing near Liverpool to-day, says a message from Sydney, struck a tree and was momentarily suspended' from the tree top, after which it crashed 40 feet to the ground and was badly damaged. The crew of two received minor inr ' juries.
