Maungatapere Lady’s Sudden Passing

The death occurred at her home. Maungatapere, yesterday, of Mrs Arthur Cave, aged 52. The late Mrs Cave, who had been in failing health for the past three years, was nevertheless sufficiently well to be about her daily duties on Monday, and hence the sudden relapse which brought her end at daybreak was a tragic shock to her family and friends. Mrs Cave was the daughter of the late Mr and Mrs R. S. Taylor, and was born at Lepperton, Taranaki. She was married to Mr Arthur Cave at Rahoti in 1908. After making their home in Taranaki for some time, Mr and Mrs Cave came North and lived for a short period at Dargaville before settling at Maungatapere 18 years ago. Held in High Esteem. Held in the highest esteem by a wide circle of friends, Mrs Cave was nevertheless of a quiet and retiring disposition, her greatest interest centring in her home and the welfare of her family. In addition to her bereaved husband, she is survived by three daughter. Mrs Leslie Salmon and Mrs Basil White, both of Whangarei, and Miss Rose Cave, of Maungatapere: a grownup son, Mr Eric Cave, of Maungatapere, and a younger son, Jim, still in his schooldays. In addition, there are four sisters, Mrs R. Hookes, Pungarehu, and Mrs N. Pepperell, Oeo, both of Taranaki, Mrs H. Phillips, East Tamaki, and Mrs A. Phillips, Maungatapere. Messrs. Eli Taylor, Opunake, and Strong Taylor, Stratford, are brothers. The funeral left the residence at Maungatapere at 2.30 p.m. to-day for the Maunu cemetery.
