Umawera Women’s Institute
The Umawera Institute held its monthly meeting on Wednesday. There was a good attendance. The competition for an embroidered apron resulted:—Mrs Beale first, Mrs Lees and Miss K. Harrison second. Miss Ada Harrison and Miss D. Chapman third. The stamps competition resulted: —Mrs Chapman first, Mrs Beale second, and Miss P. Gray third. An interesting reading on “Fear’’ was given by Mrs Oliver, while Miss K. Harrisen gave a humorous reading.
