lI.Q. is very proud ol Jean Drever and Shirley Jones. At Kauri tne.se two maidens got busy. Tney warned to meet Kupe and Princess Karanga, j and they also wanted to see Baoy Cine and the picture show. They had 1 another "want," too: It was tec assist ■ the orphanage building fund. i Accordingly they set to work and j organised a combined picture evening j and dance. They acted as joint MC.’s j and the programme was arranged for both games and dancing. It was the jollies! possible evening and was thoroughly enjoyed by Kupe and Princess Raranga. Of course, me j girls were assisted by grown-ups. Mr,?. I Carter coming forward to play the piano for community singing between j items, and joining with Mr Carter j (violin) and Mr Foote (piccolo) to i make a very good dance orchestra. j After the film of the Egyptian pyrn- I mids had been screened it was discovered that Mrs Peat, of Kauri, had visited this Eastern land recently, and she added greatly to the appreciation of the picture by giving a short chat about her experiences there. As a result of Kauri’s efforts. £ 11/6 was added to the orphanage fund. Princess Raranga received a bouquet during the evening—and had
to earn it by playing an extra waltz. Among Young Northlanders met at Kami were; Thelma Coxhead. Shirley Jones. Rita Coxhead, Elva Harris Dorothy Aylon, Mavis, Rhoda and Jean Biggar, Pat Stainton, Jean Drever, Merle and Joy Coxhead, Irene Halford, Doreen Halford, Nona Carter, Mamie Carter, Wallace Drever, Colin Harris, Lionel Harris, Dick Bell and Lloyd Jones.
