NORTHLAND TRIBE
"Advocate” Office, Water St.. Whansarei, Tuesday. July 19. 1938. Hello Everybody— Kupe and I are becoming “globe-trotters” in a mild way, we’re travelling round the country so much. Two visits this last week—Waiotlra and Kauri —and both were great fun. The more we meet Northlanders, the more we enjoy it. It’s so interesting finding the people who belong to names we know well. Kauri was a real ; treasure trove in that respect, and we felt very much “at home” in consequence. •< Betty the Bus and Percy Pojector behaved very well, the weather-man was kind, and most important (?) Kupe had his favourite Afghans for supper, so everything was just right,. This week will be a quiet one, I think, with perhaps Tapuhi at the week-end. As they’ve finished wiJh measles there, we’ll have a chance to appear. I have an idea that the Tapuhi Club members have selected a Tohunga in. readiness for a Hapu. That’S good news. 4 Next week we plan to travel North and have a busy time visiting in and around Kaitaia. Be on the lookout. Northern members, we like to meet all we can. Lastly, don’t forget the Bargain Stores’ benefit ball this coming Wednesday night. There will, be entertaining items as well as dancing, and we want to see our Orphanage Fund go sky-rocketing as a result of this grand effort. A * . • ‘ '• ' i V* Cheerio till next week, I Princess, Northland Tribe.
