Australian Trade Negotiations
(Received 8.30 a.m.) LONDON, July 16
The members of the Australian Ministerial party, led by Sir Earle Page, met yesterday morning, and discussed criticisms from Australians, ' which were widely quoted from many newspapers, after which Sir Earle Page said no statement would be issued until the trade negotiations were completed.
Full Ministerial meetings will resume on Monday, after a week’s lapse, when discussions will be confined to individual Ministers’ consultations. Sir Earle Page announces that he has decided to return via Canada, departing on July 28 or 29, and remaining a few days in Ottawa to discuss questions of interest. It is not certain whether he will then visit Washington,, this being dependent upon the progress of the discussions between the United States and Canada.
