Motorists In Court

A large number ol motorists were charged in the Magistrate's Court this morning before Mr G. N. Morris, S.M., with failing to produce certificates of car fitness. The charges were the result of a police “drive" held in Whangarci on June 17. "I understand there are a number of people driving round without certificates of fitness, although most of diem seem to have them," said the magistrate.

Davison, Frank Berston, Cyril Holmes, and J. E. R. Millington were each fined £1 with costs. R. J. Milne was fined 10/- and costs for a similar offence. / Failing to give way to traffic on his right cost V. R. Cotterell 30/- and costs. K. Howes did not appear when charged with leaving a car on the road, and was fined £1 with costs. G. K. Ruddell was fined 10/- with costs for having no number plates on his car, while W. A. Watson was ordered to pay 10/- costs for driving an unlicensed vehicle.
