The usual monthly meeting of the Board of Directors of the Whangarei Y.W.C.A. took place on Wednesday. Mrs W. Jones was in the chair, and the following were present; Mesdames Timewell, Court, Sands, Dawson, Gcissler, and Misses McLeod and Bennet. Although a complete report of the Winter Show effort was not yet possible, there was every indication of a most satisfactory result. A great many helpers made this possible, and the very sincere thanks of the board members were extended to all.

Miss McLeod presented the finance report. As the membership in the spnior division was not up to date, a sub-committee was appointed to make a report to the board. The activities committee reported a very successful musical evening during June and hoped that a similar evening might be held later in the year. The report of the recent convention was given at a special afternoon during the month.

The monthly report of the general secretary revealed continued interest in club work, although numbers had been affected by sickness. All groups had held regular meetings, and some showed an increase in membership. The Round-Table Club had elected officers and planned a programme for the rest of the year. The Lyceum had completed the production of a play (as had also the Junior Y players), and were now preparing for a fair in September. Gym. girls showed increased membership and continued interest. Basketball girls were settling down to their games and were showing better combination as the season progressed. Citizens were starting a new handcraft in July. They had completed a very successful foreign lands project in June, and were working for a playreading evening.
