London Wool Sales
(Received 12.30 a.mj LONDON, July ISAt the London wool sales today, 8573 bales were offered, including 2168 of New Zealand wools. A total number of 7547 bales Avcre sold. There was a good selection and stronger competition owing to improved Continental demand for Merinos. Late rates were firmly maintained.
Less rain and much colder conditions. culminating on Friday Avith the heaviest frost of the year, have been experienced in Whangarei during the past week. The gale which swept other parts of the North Island was missed entirely. Although the greatest rainfall in any one day was only half an inch and the total for the Aveck ending Saturday was 1.08 inches, cold showers made for unpleasantness. Friday and Saturday were brilliantly fine,, with no' rain.
