More Work At Ellerslie

[Special to "rrormern /servocate.”] AUCKLAND. This Day. With the improvement in track conditions. there was a good deal more work than usual at Ellerslie this morning, when trainers had the use of No. 3 grass track, on which the poles were out 10 feet. The best efforts were these of Fleetwind, Marie’s Acre, Alyth and Te Hai. Knight of Australia and Wee Pat went away at the seven furlong post, and were going comfortably to traverse the last six in 1.25 4-5. Both these horses are in good order. Electric Spear finished up a useful task by traversing the last three furlongs in 455. Odtaa went freely while running three furlongs in 41s. This was a useful effort for a novice. The best half-mile of the morning was credited to Fleetwind, who ran her first furlong in 13s, and completed fhe full distance in 52 3-ss. Tybalt was allotted a similar task, and, after taking 13 3-5 s for the first furlong, was going easily at the finish in 56 2-ss.

j Valspear jumped away at the sixi furlong post, and came home in 1.22 j 4-5. He ran the first three in 40 4-ss, ; and was doing his work well at j finish.
