Umpires Must Be Careful

Speaking at a reception in Master* ion on Saturday, Professor Jagat Nath, manager of the Indian hockey team, said that a groat deal depended on the way in which the game was controlled by umpires. Supervision ;.f the game was as important as the game itself. Hockey was essentially a game of non-contact. "Here I see not only contact, but. a litle more than that." continued the manager. "There can be no further improvement in the standard of piny in New Zealand until the umpires become a little more careful and watchful"
