ISpecial To “Northern Advocate ™ DARGAVILLE, This Day. The first carnival of the new season staged by the Northern Wairoa Military Amateur Boxing Association in Dargaville last evening, was the scene of spirited boxing with excellent displays in competitions. The Ht. Hon. J, G. Coates, patron of the association presented the trophies won during the evening and also the efficiency cup won by the North Auckland Company at a recent camp at Papakura. Following were the results; —E. Garea, list. beat T. Banicevich, list., on points; H. Thompson (Auckland), Bst. 71bs., drew with D. Meyer, Bst. 61bs.; E. Banicevich, list. 31bs., beat R. Powell, list. 4lbs., on ipoints; J. Jenkins (Auckland), 6st. 81bs. beat D. Wade, 6st., Wade retiring in the first round.
E. Black (Auckland), 9st. beat M. Hackctt, 9st„ on points; M. Hughes (Whangarei), lOst. 51bs„ beat J. Boyes, list. 31bs.. on points; W. Ferrill (Whangarei), list. 41bs.,' beat W. Little ■ Auckland), lOst. 131b5., on points; L. Banicevich, list., beat L. Hill, list, on a knock-out in the third round.
S. Stock (Auckland), Bst, sibs., beat •T. Cana van. Bst. 91bs., on points in a special bout and for four rounds kept the crowd on its toes. Stock showed more experience and. profited by Canavan’s mistakes, particularly wild swings, which enabled him to get in close where he scored to advantage. H. Cole (Auckland), 105t..71b5., beat T.
