[Special To “Northern Advocate ”l AUCKLAND, This Day. Escaping in her night-dress from a blazing flat at 1 o’clock yesterday morning, Mrs H. Grau, added another episode to a tale of misfortune. She was seriously injured in the Napier earthquake, being an invalid for two years. She was injured again on Saturday in a fall on a wet floor. She. her daughter, and a young visitor, Nola Carter, were awakened yesterday morning in Hill Crest Flats, Mt. Eden, by the crackling of lire in the kitchen and were unable to save any belongings in the rush to escape. The flat was gutted and damage was also done to the flat above, but the brigade made a good save of the rest of the big building.
