Nazi Jew Property Decree Draws Protest From U.S.
(Received 10 a.m.) WASHINGTON, May 11. The United States Government has sent a note to Germany emphatically protesting against the Jewish property decree as a violation of the commercial treaty of 1923 between America and Germany, under which nationals were assured the right to hold property in each other’s country, irrespective of race or creed. The note concludes with a request for an early reply giving assurances that the measure will not be applied to American citizens.
