STOCK EXCHANGE IS NO WORSE
[Special To “Northern Advocate"! AUCKLAND, This Day. The best that could be said for Stock Exchange business this morning was that it was no worse than the day before. , Indeed there were some signs of approaching steadiness, but at a lower level than ruled last week. In Australian industrials, Broken Hill Proprietary had business at about yesterday’s rates while Mt. Morgans sold 3d down at 9/5. Commercial Banks were a little better, with a market between 16/and 16/1. Nationals were in demand at 54/-. with sellers’ reserves 6d higher at 55/9. In the shipping section Huddart-Parker’s were sold from, 45/e to 46/3. There were few changes in local issues. New Zealand Newspapers sold, unchanged at 37/6 and Fai’mers’ Trading were firm between 20/- and 20/4. Colonial Sugars were firmer and buyers moved up to £46 15/- with sellers at £47 10/-.
