MR. RYDER’S TRIBUTE TO BOROUGH COUNCIL
Appreciation of the efforts of the Whangarei Borough Council to provide opportunities to the citizens for cultural and educational development, was expressed in a letter receiving a wilder deeper bu|-» the Principal of the Whangarei High School, Mr A. R. Ryder. “I would like,” he wrote, “to express my appreciation of the efforts of your council in giving the citizens of our town the opportunity of receiving a w ider and deeper outlook ineducational and cultural development. Your council is to be congratulated not only on the provision of such fine library facilities, but also in initiating the series of popular lectures fast ■ year, and more recently in arranging the series of lectures and display of works of art. Not only, must your efforts prove fruitful among the adult citizens, but I have noted with pleasure the stimulus which your efforts have produced in the minds of the pupils of this school. “I sincerely hope and trust that the progressive educational policy adopted by your council will be continued. It certainly deserves the whole-hearted support and appreciation of us all.”
