NORTHERN ROLLER MILLS EARN SLIGHTLY MORE

The Northern Roller Mills show a net profit for the year ended February 28, of £19,859, compared with £11,793 for the previous year, and £32,567 in 1935-36, The dividend for ordinary shares was recommended at 31 per cent, a reduction of i per cent. The directors state: “This completes the second year of Government control.. While results cannot by any means be called satisfactory, it is much better than the previous 12 months. Better reserves have been brought about mainly by the Government giving .all. mills increased allowances for gristing. The final result shows barely 3£ per cent on our ordinary share capital. “We, are hoping, however, now that we can show the Government, that present allowances for gristing does not allow of more than 3£ per cent to be made, we m'ay be able to induce them to give further help so that fair rates of interest may be earned for the future.”
