Unfinished Overhead Bridge
Many people who pass over the railway level crossing at Oakleigh have commented on the unfinished state of the overhead bridge which is being constructed. Earth fillings on both sides of the track have been built, but beyond that, the work has been apparently left. The work was commenced over a year ago. Other work on the road to Whangarei is being pushed ahead, however. The “Advocate” communicated with the Public Works Department office today, but as the District Engineer was out of town, was unable to obtain his comment on the position.
