Spotlight on Hon. R. Semple
The Hon. R. Semple, Minister of Transport, reviews holiday accidents, and issues a further warding that, whatever the occasion, intoxicated drivers will be given no quarter. Is perhaps best known throughout the country for the forceful way in which he expresses his feelings. Was born in New South Wales in 1873, arriving in New Zealand in 1893. Has been a member of Parliament for Wellington East since 1928, and was selected as Minister of Public Works and Minister of Transport by the Rt. Hon. M. J. Savage, when Labour was elected to office.
