SULT FROM THE ANNOUNCEMENT. WHICH WAS RECEIVED YESTERDAY FROM THE DIRECTOR-GENERAL OF THE POST AND TELEGRAPH DEPARTMENT, MR, G. MCNAMARA.
Benefits ranging from £2O to £SO a year will result, and. some increases will be made retrospective to April I, 1937. It is hoped dial arrears of pay will be distributed within the next week or two.
Adjustments. Inch constitute the first regrading since the depression period, affects most noticeable the lower-paid officers. The regrading was carried out as the result of a comprehensive investigation by inspectors,, all men in every division being given, the opportunity to place their cases before the inspectors. The regrading will, involve a number of transfers.
Mr. G. H. Macklcy, General Manager of Now Zealand Railways, stated that the railway regrading commission had completed investigations and a report would ho immediately prepared.
