TWO MEN DIE OF BORN INJURIES
Two men have died as the result of burns. They arc:— Mr Charles Orlando Roscoe. of Waiuku, married, aged 47. Mr Frederick Cartman, aged S 3, a miner, of Waihi. Mr Roscoe was injured when methylated spirits exploded in his grocery shop in Queen Street. Waiuku. He had filled a spirit lamp from the drum, which exploded as ho attempted to light the lamp. He was taken to the Franklin Memorial Hospital, and later to the Auckland Hospital, where he died on Saturday. Mr Roscoe formerly conducted a business in Whangaroi. Mi- Cartman was injured on Friday evening, when ho and his son. Mr Douglas Cartman, aged 20, were burned when a bottle of benzine exploded in their home in Walmsley Street. Mr Cartman, senior, was taken to the Waihi Hospital, with his son, and died yesterday afternoon. The son is making satisfactory progress.—Special.
