Venice Canals Are Frozen Hard
(Received 10 a.m.) LONDON, January 7. The Venice correspondent of the “Daily Telegraph” says the temperature there has been below freezing point for 48 hours. Canals are frozen hard. Tv/o men wore frozen to death, and many cottages in the provinces are endangered. as they ax-e marooned by the frozen canals. Crews of tugs rescued four stranded people.
