Screwdriving Tip
Most owners, in tinkering about their cars, at some time or another have experienced difficulty in starting in their threads very small screws, such as those used in electrical equipment and on certain parts of the carburetter. A good idea is to obtain a piece of very thin cardboard, an old visiting card being excellent for the pui’pose, and to push the screw through it. The cardboard enables the screw to be held squarely over the hole into which it is to be inserted, while the first two or three threads are started with the screwdriver. Once started in this manner, the cardboard may be torn away and the screw driven right home. Apother old idea is to use a screwdriver with a magnetised tip. 1
