Mills And Donnelly Star At New Plymouth
[Per Press Association. — Copyright.'] NEW PLYMOUTH. This Day.
The work of Mills behind the wicket and Donnelly’s fast batting were features of the concluding day’s play in the match between the Otago Plunket Shield team and North Taranaki. Otago won by live wickets.
In the last over of the match four batsmen were stumped and one caught by Mills in Taranaki’s second innings, in which Donnelly’s display was a feature.
Treating the bowlers with disdain, he knocked up his score of 82 in 55 minutes, hitting five fours in one over. Otago gave the tail-enders batting practice in the second innings. Scores:—
North Taranaki, first innings, 154; second innings, 247. Otago, first innings, 303; second innings, 101 for five wickets.
