Thames Campers Were Flooded Out
[Special To *'Northern Advocate] THAMES, This, Day. When the creek at Puru rose rapidly following a heavy thunderstorm in the Thames district on Wednesday night, campers at Puru had their tents flooded to a depth of two feet. Fearing that they would be overwhelmed if the creek rose higher, one party had to swim to land about 10 o’clock. Across the road to the south of the bridge the water reached a depth of Several feet as it ran alongside one of the cottages. No othar damage has been reported in other parts of the district.
