“WE WILL GO AHEAD,” TOKIO SAYS
(Received 2 p.m.) LONDON, January 6. “Japan will go ahead,” declared Akira Kazimi, chief secretary to the Japanese Cabinet, after an important conference between the Prime Minister, Prince Konoye, and the War, Navy, and Foreign Affairs Ministers. He added that Japan is determined to continue operations in the ' present crusade, unless China rectifies her mistaken attitude. Chinese retreating from Tsinanfu destroyed 438 of 450 Japanese houses in the city, also Japanese schools, hospitals and the Consulate. Chinese bombers carried out two lightning raids on the Wuhu Aerodrome and dropped 75 bombs. They destroyed a Japanese aeroplane, which was about to land, and five others. Two Japanese armies are converging on Soochow. Each is 100 miles away.
