There was no play on Saturday, and, resuming yesterday morning. Wellington carried their total to 231. Canterbury collapsed in its second innings for 99 against brilliant bowling by Pritchard, Gallichan, Rice and Wilson,

Cromb, the Canterbury captain, played a good fighting knock for 39. Although requiring only 66 to win, Wellington lost four wickets in getting them. .
