STRONGER GERMANY: NEW YEAR MOTTO

In a Now Year message, Herr Hitler spoke of the change from a morally decadent people to a proud and great united nation. In a reference, taken to apply to colonies, he said; “May the rest of the world contribute its share toward a peaceful solution of the questions, which, morally and materially, are based on reason as well as on legality.” Herr Hitler added: “Germany’s motto in the coming year must continue to be the strengthening of the nation.

“That means not only an intensification of the National Socialist training organisation. hut also a further extension of the armed forces, for only a powerful State can preserve for our people that treasure which is dearest to us, namely, peace,”

No One Would Dare Attack Us.”

“Where would we be without a strong armed force, guns and aeroplanes?” asked Dr. Goebbels, in a Now Year broadcast. “There is no longer anyone in the world who would dare assault us. This strong peace is not the fruit of the establishment of a collective world brotherhood. It is the, result of reason, justice and national security. This is the Fuhrer’s goal.” Attacking the Church, Dr. Goebbels said; “The Government’s policy cannot be disturbed. Its preliminary condition is the unity of the Church. This cannot be attacked by anyone. Churchmen dabbling in politics should take notice of this. God’s Will,

“We believe in a German state which we must form after God's will. That is concession reaching beyond the dogma of the theological doctrines.” Archbishop Faulhaber preached a New Year service at Munich to a congregation of 8000. He adjured Catholics to stand steadfast.
