WHANGAREI RAINFALL WELL ABOVE AVERAGE
Whangarei had the third heaviest rainfall in the North Island during November and the 10th heaviest for the Dominion, according to statistics prepared by the Dominion Meteorological Office. On the 12 days in which rain fell in Whangarei in November, 4.68 inches wore recorded, making the total fall this year, up to the end of November, 79.01 inches, compared with an average of 57.52 inches. The average November rainfall is 2.81 inches.
Riversdale (Inglewood) established the highest figures for the North Island. 6.15 inches being recorded, while Russell came next with 5.51 inches.
In the South Island, Hokitika was first on the list with 9.11 inches, Ross second with 8.91 inches, and Okuru (South Westland) third with 8.78 inches.
