Ten More Death Penalties In Russia

In connection with the diplomatic purge, V. A. Mikanofl' has been appointed Minister at Oslo in succession to I. S. Yakuboyitch. whose destination is not revealed, but was recently reported by bis secretary to be staying outside the Legation, instead of answering a summons to return to Moscow in order to furnish details of Trotsky’s sojourn in Norway. Newspapers announce 10 death sentences of so-called Trotskyite wreckers convicted of sabotaging-
live stock in the Tartar Republic
Four Leningrad trading officials were sentenced to death for wasteful practices, including. delivering 1,800,000 roubles' worth of unwanted buttons and. storing tailors' dummies in a damp cellar.
The president and seven other officials of Dvina Timber Trust, Archangel, which is a large exporter to Britain, received the death sentence as wreckers and agents of a certain foreign Power.
