A Joke On Kupe
(Sent in bv Joan Wright. Maromako. Age 5.) Joan, during her many trips to Whang’arei, had often noticed the (advertisement painting for “Power Chief’ benzine, which has rather a prominent place near the new overhead bridge at Kamo. The older members of the family had told her that the painting was “Kupo.” 1 Can you imagine Joan’s surprise when she visited Kupe at his office and found someone entirely different. Now when passing the spot, and “Kupe” is mentioned. there is a most emphatic denial.
