W.C.T.U. Is “With” Hon. R. Semple
In his campaign against the drunken motorists, the Hon. R. Semple, Minister of Transport, has the backing of the W.C.T.U. “With all Mr Semple is trying to do, it is ridiculous to license men to sell the stuff,” remarked Mrs Peryman in the course of her address to delegates. New Zealand, she said, is now a C 2 nation and will go down further if the evils of the liquor trade are not stopped. Mr Semple is to receive a letter from the convention saying the W.C.T.U. is “with him” in trying to keep the roads dear of liquor.
