I IRISH DRAMA AT THE PLAZA. The literal translation of “Sinn Feinn” is “Ourselves Alone,” and this is the appropriate title of the new 8.1. P. film which deals with the clashings btween the Irish Constabulary and the Irish Republican Army during the well-remembered revolution of more than a decade ago, with the former out to capture the notorious Michael O'Dea, apparently the brains of the latter party. Following a raid by Inspector Hannay, leader of the Constabulary, O’Dea is shot dead, and it is revealed that he is none other than Terence Elliott, brother of the girl to whom Hannay is engaged. The infuriated Republicans determine to avenge their leader, and force Maureen Elliott to lure Captain Wiltshire to her home, when they will proceed to torture him. The Constabulary are soon hot omthe scent, however, and in a stirring climax the Republicans are rounded up. Hannay insisting that it was he who killed O’Dea, and not Wiltshire, when he realises that it is Wiltshire whom Maureen loves. “Ourselves Alone.” which is screen- I irig at the Plaza Theatre, is a drama of Ireland in rebellion, abounding in thrills and teeming with action, when love of country makes men do unbe- i lievably terrible and surpassingly! beautiful things.
