HIKURANGI TEAMS AT RUGBY HEADQUARTERS
TOMORROW’S SPORT
The question which spectators at Rugby Park tomorrow will see answered is whether Kia Toa, with the reputation of being a wrecking team, can give Hikurangi as big a jolt as Old Boys received at the hands of the Maoris last week.
Coincidentally, in the first round Hikurangi won by 11 points, to eight, the same margin as that which Old Boys secured victory, by virtue of a lucky try and consequent conversion, in the last few minutes.
The Maoris will have a stronger .teem still at their dis- | posal tomorrow, and, as there j is the certainty of a, heavy j ground, Hikurangi may be | handicapped still further if ( they persist in their tactics of | turning on fine-weather foot- j ball under any conditions. j Old Boys travel to Maungakaramea, j whom they bested B—-3 in. their pre-j vious meeting. j The curtain-raiser at the Park will be a needle game in the junior championship, Hikurangi, who were downed for the first time last week, being drawn to meet Hora Hora, who have piled on the points in theirs recent games. This will be the first appearance of the Hikurangi side at headquarters. ■ Teams:-- . ’ Old Boys, Senior,— Scarborough, 1 Bradley, Knew, Bbreham, Saul, Collins, Skelton, Masters, Symes, Smith, Tapper, Jones, MeMasters, Carr, Whiteman, Alison, Calvert.
