OBITUARY
Mrs P. Gaffey The death occurred recently,of Mrs Priscilla Gaffey, of Taonui Farm, Makaranui, Ohakune, one of the outstanding personalities of the Waimarino. She was the widow of the late Mr James Gaffey, and had lived in the Ohakune district for over 30 years. She was a woman of keen intellect and boundless energy, and played a leading part in the. pioneering of the wild bush country. She was also an ardent reader and student of history.
As a member of the Women’s Division she rendered valuable services to the community, and her advice was freely sought by officials engaged , in social welfare work.
Mrs Gaffey is survived by two daughters, Mrs M. Crump (Whangarei), and Mrs P. Fiore (Glendowie). There are 15 grandchildren.
