Salvation Army Festival
The Hikurangi Salvation Army staged a very successful harvest festival on Tuesday. An excellent programme of music and song was presented by the Whangarei Corps Band and Songsters, and the large audience thoroughly enjoyed the following items: —• Selection by Band; item by Songsters; Band selection; vocal quartette, Mesd'ames Jenkins and R'ive, and Messrs Rive and Harvey; pianoforte solo, Mrs ..A’Court; cornet duet, Bandsmen Edmonds and Logan; recitation, Bandsman Logan; solo, Mrs Captain Smith; Band selection; male quartette, Bandmaster Rive, DeputyBandmaster Rive, Messrs Harvey and Jenkins; item 1 by Songsters.; Band selection. At the conclusion of the Programme, the harvest goods were sold by Captain Smith, assisted by Captain Kirkpatrick, of Hikurangi, and a number of bandsmen. The function closed with the Benediction and prayer by Captain Smith..
