Australian Lambs Improve
(Received 1.30 p.m.) LONDON, March 23. Officials at Smithfield were pleased with the quality in the New South Wales competition for lambs, which indicated that Australia has made great strides in meeting requirements of the British market. Prize-winners were all progeny of Southdown rams, which the market considers the most suitable strain. The first prize was awarded Mr W. O’Neill, and was considered comparable to the best New Zealand.
