Plenty Of Hot Cross Buns At Higher Price

Hot cross buns will be available to Whangarei people over the Easter period. At one stage it was thought that, owing to the high wages bakers would have to pay assistants, buns would not be made. Although known as hot cross buns, it is possible that the' crosses will be eliminated, owing to the limited time available for manufacture of the buns. The prices will be 1/2 a dozen, compared with 1/- last year. The small increase is due to he higher cost of production, and other charges. In Auckland the price will be 1/3.
