NORTHLANDER AWARDED VET. SCHOLARSHIP

Four scholarships in veterinary science have been awarded this year and three of the students selected by the New Zealand Government, have already left for Australia to commence their studies at the Sydney Universiy Veterinary. The other student intends to take a coursP at the Royal Veterinary College, Edinburgh. Those who have gone to Sydney are Mr lan G. Watt, M.Sc., tipper Hutt, George Allan Thomson, Dunedin, and D. W. Newman, Broadwood, Hpkianga, NcMhland. The fourth student is Mr lan M. Brown. He will leave New Zealand for Edinburgh in time to commence a course next October, The four awards complete the number of scholarships offered under the scheme announced by the Government early last year, under which young men. were to be given ah opportunity to qualify as veterinary surgeons.
