A farewell to Mr O. Kitchen by his old associates on the staff of the North Auckland Farmers’ Co-op., Ltd., and a number of friends, took place at Kaitaia on Saturday evening. Mr Kitchen was presented by Mr S. W. Turley, on behalf of the gathering, with a silver cigarette case and pencil. Agricultural Statistics. Many farmers have not been fully impressed with the responsibility the law places upon their aspect to agricultural and pastoral statistics. Papers have been sent out from Kaitaia to 800 farmers, and though it is required that these papers will be filled in with the necessary particulars and returned within seven days, no less than 176 were outstanding on Saturday. The law provides for a heavy penalty for failui'e to send in returns by the date fixed. In contradistinction to many white people, the Maoris have been most punctilious in returning the papers.

Mr Laurence Grey, of Wellsford, is spending a fortnight’s holiday with Mr and Mrs Allan White, of Victoria Valley. Messrs. Arthur Paton and Tom Gallagher motored to Whangarei for the Whangarei Show.
