Butter Market Is Strong

Dairy P

(Received 10 a.m.) LONDON, March 21. Butter is strong. Traders consider it would be unfortunate if the price were forced higher in the immediate future, but do not anticipate a break in values. Sentiment is still the mos T important factor, buyers either falling over themselves to secure stocks or leaving the market entirely alone. Imports last month were 2273 tons less than in February last year. Prospective imports for March and April are also likely to be lower. Consumption is 300 to 400 tons a week greater. It appears that stocks in cold store will be steadily diminished, in the next two months.
